Why do you serve?
- Service has become a part of my everyday routine. I attended high school at Notre Dame in Lawrenceville and became active in its Service-Learning Program, which helped me to develop a greater understanding of the issues that have so greatly impacted our local communities, such as hunger, poverty, and homelessness. Ever since, my goal has been to help those who are on the brink of poverty. It is deeply troubling to me that there exist so many inequities between neighborhoods in New Jersey, particularly in the Trenton and Mercer County area. However, I believe that the presence of service-learning programs and organizations such as the Bonner Foundation have been successful in raising awareness of these issues, and have helped to begin a part towards a time when the great need that now exists will subside completely.

Quotation:
"Everyone can be great because anyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve... You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love..." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
