October 2008 Developmental Disabilities (10)

Page history last edited by Paula Figueroa-Vega 6 mos ago

There were several CEL days that focused on Developmental Disabilities during the month of October 2008.  They all involved TCNJ students working with Visitation Home, our community partner that offers housing and programming for adults with developmental disabilities.  Esther Brahmi, Bonner Scholar Site Leader, and her team led students through several activities that engaged participants of Visitation Home programs.  The students were transported by Bonners who shaped the day for a meaningful experience and reflection activities after the event.

There were a total of 10 days:

  • October 2, 3, and 22, 2008  - TCNJ students from Professor's Rao FSP class participated in these types of CEL days.
  • Regular CEL days not connected to FSP classes were held on October 4th and 25th.  A total of 37 first year students participated.
  • Professor's Petroff's FSP students also participated on October 6, 10, 20, 23, and 24th

The Visitation Home has been committed to offer students these types of experience.  Some students continue volunteering after fulfilling their required 8 hours of service.
